Karaganda is one of the largest cities in Kazakhstan and the administrative center of the Karaganda region. The city has a rich history, associated primarily with the development of the coal and metallurgical industries. Here is a brief history of Karaganda:

Foundation and early years: The city of Karaganda was founded at the beginning of the 20th century in connection with the discovery of coal deposits in this region. At first it was a small settlement, but with the growth of industry and the migration of labor from different regions of the USSR, the city quickly expanded.

Development during the Soviet period: During the Soviet Union, Karaganda became one of the largest industrial centers in Kazakhstan. The city became an important center of the coal, metallurgical and chemical industries. Large enterprises, residential areas, cultural and educational institutions were built.

Social infrastructure: In Soviet times, social infrastructure actively developed in Karaganda. Schools, kindergartens, hospitals, sports complexes and cultural institutions were built. The city has become one of the cultural and educational centers of the region.

Transition: Following the collapse of the Soviet Union and Kazakhstan's independence in 1991, Karaganda faced economic and social challenges. Despite this, the city retained its industrial potential and status as one of the key economic centers of Kazakhstan.

Modern period: Currently, Karaganda continues to develop as an industrial, cultural and educational center. The city is actively modernizing, developing infrastructure, cultural life and tourism. Karaganda hosts international festivals, exhibitions and sporting events.
