2 days trekking at Chong Kemin and horseride day at Song Kul's lake

A short program around the Kyrgyz range, with 2 days hike to the Kogur lake till the Issyk Kul lake; a stay with horseride at Song Kul's lake, heart of the nomadic life in Kyrgyzstan; visit of the great canyon of Kekemeren (Kyzyl Korgon and Kyzyl Oy).


Manas International Airport

D 1 / Manas International Airport - Bishkek

Arrival in Bishkek. Meeting with the local guide in the airport. Transfer to the center of city. Having a rest. Lunch. Afternoon, visit of the capital. Dinner and return to the guest house. Overnight in guesthouse.


D 2 / Bishkek - Chong Kemin

Morning tour around the Issyk Ata valley and its hot springs, visit of the Burana tower at the archaeological site of Balasagun, ancient city on the Silk Road (XI c.). Afternoon, transfer to the National Park Chong Kemin. Visit of the Chabdan Batyr park, he was a former, Kyrgyz hero. Cultural Evening organized by the regional ecotourism association in the village of Karol Doeboe. Night in homestay (CBT Chong Kemin)

Chong Kemin National Park

D 3 / Chong Kemin - Kel-Kogur lake

In the morning, after a short transfer by vehicle along the river canyon Chong Kemin, you will hike to lake Kongur at 2500m. alt. Slopes of this area are covered by fir forests. This mountainous lake has a unique trapezoidal shape. On the shore of the lake, we set up the camp and enjoy the wonderful sceneries around us. Dinner and overnight stay in a tent. (part of a minimum 2 days trekking program to Issyk Kul lake)

Kel Ter pass Diure-Suu

D 4 / Kel-Kogur lake - Tamchy

In the morning, we pass the pass at 3350m. alt. and we go down with a magnificent view of Lake Issyk Kul and the chain of Terskey Alatoo rising to over 5200 meters. By late afternoon, we reach our vehicle and we go along the north shore of Issyk Koel, "warm lake", the second largest alpine lake after Titicaca is the pearl of Kyrgyzstan. We stop in Tamchy, to spend the night. Free time for swimming. Overnight in guesthouse or homestay.

D 5 / Tamchy - Tuz Ashuu (Song Kul)

In the morning, transfer to Lake Song-Kul. At noon we will arrive in the valley of Kilemche, we continue towards the lake through the pass of Tuz Ashuu. Night in yurt. (option: horseride or hiking from Kilemche to the yurt camp of Tuz Ashuu.)

D 6 / Tuz Ashuu (Song Kul) - Tulpar Tash (Song Kul)

After breakfast riding to Tulpar Tash on the our beautiful lake Son Kul, situated at 3016m above sea level. End of the afternoon, we arrive to yurt camp and spend the night and dinner in yurt.

Kyzyl Korgon

D 7 / Tulpar Tash (Song Kul) - Kyzyl Korgon

In the morning we drive towards the pass Kara Ketche, we stop to walk in the direction of the pass and back down to the coal mine, we take our vehicle to go down even lower. Picnic. In the afternoon, we reach the main road of Djumgal Valley. Then we drive to the small village of Kyzyl Korgon. Free time for hiking. Overnight in tents. 2 hours walk, 5km, + 100m. -320m.

Ak-Kel lake

D 8 / Kyzyl Korgon - Kyzyl Oy

Morning, we drive up to the Ak-Koel lake, a losted lake in the Moldo Too range. Picnic, then drive into the colorful canyon of the Kekemeren river, confluent of the great Naryn river. Night in homestay. (CBT Kyzyl Oy).

Kojomkul village

D 9 / Kyzyl Oy - Bishkek

Morning, transfer to Bishkek, a visit of the village of Kojomkul, named after kyrgyz hero. Passing the tunnel Toe-Ashuu, which cross the chain of the Kyrgyz Alatoo. Arrival in Bishkek. Transfer to guesthouse. Free time for last shopping or visiting the capital. Overnight in Villa Real (Guesthouse).

Manas International Airport

D 10 / Bishkek - Manas International Airport

Depending on your flight time, your guide will join you to the airport and help you check in for your flight.  If your flight is later in the day your guide will show you more places in Bishkek before your flight.

Since July 27, 2012, the visa is not any more required for the persons of Swiss, EU, US, Canadian and Japanese nationalities (in total 44 new countries, for more information visit; passport should be with minimum of 6 months validity for period of 60 days maximum. Vaccination is not mandatory.

This is a draft program. It can be changed due to changes of flight schedules, safetely reasons, weather conditions and others imponderable or unforeseen conditions. Only our tour guide is authorized to take the necessary decisions. Prices are calculated daily and are subject to change in case of wide fluctuations in prices or exchange rates.

Though Kyrgyzstan evidenced caravans over 3000 years it is still a young developing country and infrastructure of villages is not at a very high level. Refusing hospitality might be offensive and in order to avoid misunderstanding one had better to read some guidebooks and other books about Kyrgyzstan before getting prepared to visit.
