Thanks to the Nomad's land agency, we were able to discover Kyrgyzstan off the beaten track. We stayed in traditional guesthouses and in yurt camps in the middle of grandiose landscapes. But above all we met very welcoming people, who shared with us their culture and their way of living in harmony with nature.

Excellent organization due in particular to the efficiency of our (French-speaking) guide Nurbek. We spent a month in Kyrgyzstan trekking in the regions of Enylchek Glacier, Song Kul Lake, Sary Mogol Valley and Peak Lenin Base Camp. For those who love the mountains and the glaciers: to recommend!

Nomad's Land organized a rich itinerary to fit my time constraints and I was blown away. As much as some of the excitement can be attributed to Kyrgyzstan's unparalleled beauty, it was the access to ancient modes of life that Nomads Land facilitated and which swept me off my tired feet. I could taste local hospitality in the settings from yesteryear, swallow a wealth of landscapes where late autumn Eastmancolor competed, mostly successfully, with precocious winter's monochrome. Bakyt, my triingual guide, was super-attentive to my whims and patient with my zombie Russian. From yurts to eagle hunting, textile weaving to archaeology, hikes to simply zoning out to soak up the local flavors - it was all one could wish for in such a short period of time and more. Highly, highly recommended.

Alex Johnson is a tour guide par excellence, especially for English-speaking visitors. He is very knowledable about Kyrgyzstan, considerate, flexible, and a born problem-solver. Combined with his detailed knowledge of off-the-beaten-path sights and wonders plus his many friendships with locals everywhere, a traveler cannot go wrong picking Alex as a companion. I know because we toured the mountains together for two weeks of glorious fun

Traveling to Kyrgyzstan is in itself a different experience and far from any imaginable stereotype; If you add an off-road guide, fun, versatile, communicative, aware of the well-being of the group and more decisive than McGiver in a hardware store, you have all the perfect components to make the adventure unforgettable! Mikel was able to extract from us, among thousands of moments of laughter and good humor, skills and a capacity for improvement that many of us do not even imagine. And, although a few weeks have passed, I can say that he has managed to transmit and maintain in all his spirit - probably innate - of struggle, adaptation, respect for the environment and for the cultures that are alien to us, as well as joy and gratitude for every little thing that we were able to enjoy. And also, the curiosity to learn and extract the positive from each new experience! (including misadventures) :) Anyone traveling to Kyrgyzstan should know that unforeseen events happen, but they are a perfect opportunity to redefine planning and be surprised by each new possible adventure. And that, Mikel knows. That's why in his red backpack, there are thousands of letters up his sleeve. Someone in the group defined him as a "human referent". Frankly, I can't agree more. Thank you Mikel for sharing with us your experiences and that wisdom that is so natural to you. And to Nomad's Land, for the signing piece! In my first trip to Kyrgyzstan I couldn't have hoped for more in less time. This company and specially his guide, Mikel, provided more than everything we needed to make this not just a holiday or a trip but a wonderful overall experience. The white paradise of the powder skier! skis less than 100 on the skate do not! what a change of scenery in this immaculate universe. Thanks to the excellence of our Lyda and Stas Guides, the discovery of their sometimes tricky mountains, the immersion in their culture, happened naturally. I would have stayed there longer!

In a country where it's not that easy to backpacking on your own nomad's land helps you to organise a unique journey. I am very happy with the tour they organise, they got me. I saw amazing landscape and slept in wonderful places, in a yurt in a middle of nowhere or in shepherd house with local families. The guide Mirbek had a great sense of humours, incredible knowledge about his country. Easy going and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We have visited Kyrgyzstan with the agency Nomad’s Land and we had a great experience with them. They planned and customized the trip to our preferences and they provided us very professional guide and drivers. They were in contact with us during the planning and also during the trip, which is very appreciated. In our case, we preferred to have an organized trip because we had only one week in the country and we wanted to do some hikking as well, therefore, it saved us a lot of time. Nomad's Land (Alex) helped us to plan and organize 8-days self-guided trekking in the mountains surrounding Karakol. It was our first visit in Kyrgystan and it was really good to rely on advices and suggestions of someone having mountain experince and knowledge of the local customs. The trekking was great, we started at Jeti-Oguz, then crossed Telety Pass, went down to Karakol valley, ascent to Alakul Lake, crossed Alakul Pass and went down the valley to Aksu. Nomad's Land arranged for us a nice trip from Karakol to Almaty by a private car, during which we visited the amazing Sharyn Canyon.

We had a wonderful 15 days in Kyrgyzstan and wholeheartedly recommend Nomad's Land to anyone the country would tempt - and believe us it is worth it! The team is as competent as it is cheerful and dynamic, with a real desire for ecotourism (it's not just marketing at home and that's a pleasure) and exploring off-track trails. We were able to walk the Kyrgyz mountain trails alone in the world, at our (good) walking pace and having the impression of being Kyrgyz for a little while in our life. A huge thank you to all the team who greatly contributed to such a success of our trip, we hope to have the chance to come back to see you one day!
